Queen Camilla Admits Feeling ‘Frightened’ as Her Grandchildren Grow Up

Charles and Camilla cherish their time with their grandchildren, making every effort to spend as much time with them as possible.
However, as the years go by, Camilla has expressed sadness over the passing of a special era with her grandchildren. Recently, she opened up about her relationship with them, revealing a heartbreaking realization.

Camilla was once among the most criticized members of the Royal Family due to her past affair with Charles while he was still married to Princess Diana. Over time, however, public perception shifted, and she gained significant admiration from both the public and royal experts alike.

For both Camilla and Charles, prioritizing time with their family extends beyond their own children—it includes their beloved grandchildren as well.

“You know, the wonderful thing about being a grandmother is that you get to spoil them from time to time, giving them little things their parents wouldn’t normally allow,” she shared.

“The girls are starting to show an interest in fashion and makeup, and, you know, it’s a little daunting when you see them experimenting—pierced ears, bold makeup, and brightly colored hair. It’s a new phase, but it’s all part of growing up.”

While Camilla has five biological grandchildren, she has also embraced the role of “step-grandmother” to King Charles’ grandchildren. This includes Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—as well as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, she seldom gets to see the latter.

Camilla understands that she is not George, Charlotte, or Louis’ biological grandmother, but ultimately, this does not matter. She has formed a warm and supportive relationship with Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children over time.

However, Camilla has been mindful not to overstep or become too involved in George, Charlotte, and Louis’ upbringing.
